Free group sessions for people who've never really run before — or who tried once, hated it, and gave up. Show up as you are. Bring a friend if it helps. Leave whenever you like.
Get in touchWhat it is
These are free group sessions for complete beginners. The point isn't to get fit fast or push you hard — it's to show you that running can actually be enjoyable, when you start in the right way.
01
There's nothing to sign up for, nothing to pay, and no pitch at the end. Come once, come every week, or never come back. It's genuinely up to you.
02
If you can walk, you can do this. We start with short, gentle intervals — walk a bit, run a bit. No-one's racing. No-one's watching. Everyone's in the same boat.
03
Showing up is the hardest part. If a friend, partner or workmate makes it easier, bring them. The more nervous beginners the better — that's exactly who these sessions are for.
04
No lycra required. No talk of splits or PBs. Just a small group of people having a go, with someone there to make sure you're doing it in a way that won't put you off for life.
"There's no bar to clear before you're allowed to call yourself a runner."
You don't need to lose weight first. You don't need to buy proper shoes first. You don't need to "get a bit fitter" first so you don't embarrass yourself. None of that. Turn up in whatever you've got. The only people there will be other beginners and me — and I'm a lot more interested in helping you enjoy it than I am in how fast you can go.
What a session looks like
Nothing complicated. No fitness test, no awkward intros, no being made to do anything you don't want to do.
In-person where possible. We review how things are going and set out the next two weeks — together, not handed down to you.
Your training adapts as you do. If something isn't working, we change it — no waiting until the next session.
You're not on your own between sessions. Questions, doubts, bad runs — I'm available.
We look at how you actually move, not just how far or fast. Good technique makes running easier and keeps you injury-free.
Not a strict diet plan — practical advice on fuelling your body so running feels good, not depleting.
The mental side of starting out is real. We talk about it honestly and work through it as part of the process.
Running gets easier when the rest of your body supports it. Simple, practical work that complements your runs.
Face-to-face makes a difference. I can see what's happening, respond in the moment, and actually get to know how you run.
This isn't a PDF to download and follow on your own.
It's someone in your corner, for the whole journey.
A few honest promises
01.
If you need to walk the whole thing, you walk the whole thing. The session works around the slowest person, not the fastest. That's the whole point.
02.
I run paid coaching too, but these sessions aren't a sales pitch. If you ever want to ask about it, you can. If you don't, you'll never hear about it from me.
03.
Friend, partner, neighbour, colleague — anyone who's been talking about getting started but hasn't. It's easier with a familiar face, and they'll be welcome.
Common questions
If yours isn't here, send me a message. There's no question too small or too obvious — I'd rather you ask than not show up.
Then you walk. The first session for a lot of people is mostly walking with the odd 30-second jog mixed in. That's a perfectly good place to start.
Whatever's comfortable. Trainers of any kind, clothes you can move in. You don't need running gear and you definitely don't need to buy anything before you come.
Genuinely doesn't matter. Everyone's a beginner. And if you want to bring someone with you so you're not on your own, please do.
No. Come when it suits you. Some people come every week, some drop in once a month. Either is fine.
Send me a message and I'll let you know the next session — time, location, and what to expect when you get there.
Ready to start?
No hard sell. Just a conversation about where you are and whether I can help. Reach out however suits you.
